Ah yes, the final day of the Sydney Salsa Congress, started off fairly uneventful. The fantastic breakfast (included) at the hotel continued, and the massive well attended workshops flowed smoothly. This nights performances, though less dramatic, again flowed smoothly.

Sydney Salsa Congress, Day 2
So, Johnny Vasquez taught an absolutely huge class! Yes, he was on a raised stage, and yes, his crazy hyper energy prevailed upon the crowd, and everyone had a great time. It’s been a long time since I’ve actually seen him (about four years), since I believe he now resides in Mexico. He has quite the star presence, but seems to have returned to earth (or maybe it’s just an act) from his crazy antics of years past.

So, after my harrowing trip through the Sydney train network, and arriving and checking into the hotel, it was time for the pre-congress party. After spending the week in Sydney, I was a bit nervous – since some of the dancer’s I had asked whether they were attending the pre-congress party, answered no. However, my nervousness was misplaced. As I arrived to a crowd of about 400 for the pre-congress shows.

Ah yes, I've been in Sydney for several days (as my day to day diary can attest), and now it's time to take the trip to Olympic Parc (a Sydney attraction in it's own right), to visit the Sydney Salsa Congress (an event for which I've been receiving rave review for a couple of years now).
